Role of the Board of Directors
SaskGaming is responsible to the Government of Saskatchewan through a Minister and Board of Directors appointed by Cabinet. The Board is comprised of seven members, three of whom are nominated by the Chiefs' Legislative Assembly of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations as required under our governing legislation.
The Board of Directors functions as stewards of the corporation and has the authority and obligation to manage the affairs and the business of the corporation. The Board supervises management, which is responsible for the day-to-day conduct of the business.
The Board also considers the legitimate interests of employees, suppliers, customers, communities and all levels of government in supervising the business of the corporation.
The fundamental objective of the Board of Directors is to act in the best interests of the corporation, taking into account the public policy and business objectives of the corporation with a view to enhancing shareholder value. In supervising the conduct of the business, the Board, through the President & CEO, sets the standards of conduct for the corporation and exercises oversight regarding its operations.
