Since 2002 the Winnipeg Comedy Festival has been showcasing the very best in Canadian comedy talent to a national audience. 2024 lineup features:
ROB PUE
A gregarious and dynamic comedian with a knack for telling it like it is, Rob Pue has become one of the brightest voices to hit the Canadian comedy scene. With unmistakable charm, wit and trade-mark act-outs, Rob is a must-see performance. After the highly successful release of his first official Comedy Album #PUEGILIST – Debuting at #1 on the iTunes Comedy Charts – Rob Pue takes his show on the road and coast to coast in Canada. Rob has appeared on Comedy Central, MTV’s Punk’d and had his own Comedy Now special on The Comedy Network. He’s also a regular on CBC’s Debaters, performed multiple times at Just For Laughs, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival and the HubCap Comedy Festival. He was also the winner of the prestigious San Francisco Comedy Competition – with past winners including and Dana Carvey, and runner ups including Robin Williams, Ellen Degeneres and Patton Oswalt.
SHANNON LAVERTY
Shannon Laverty is a veteran stand up comic hailing from the plains of Saskatchewan. She is a 5-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee and has performed across Canada and South Africa. She has also worked in Germany, the Dominican Republic and the US. Laverty was thrilled to work with Dana Carvey and Louis C K. A show she will never forget is Massey Hall in Toronto for New Years Eve, working with Robert Klein.
Shannon's TV and Radio credits include Laugh out Loud (CBC RADIO), Winnipeg Comedy Fest. (CBC), Listed (Much More Music), Club 54, The Movie Network's Pay-Per-View comedy special "Mondo Taboo 2", She's So Funny and Funny Girls on WTN, and Comics (CBC) Shannon has also made appearances at numerous comedy festivals. Winnipeg Comedy Festival, JFL42 YYC festival, Sudbury LOL, Ice Breaker Fest, and the Molson Canadian Toronto Comedy Festival.
Laverty's on-stage persona is proud to be provocative. Her come-hither attitude will draw you in and her flirtatious delivery has been embraced by all.
ALLIE PEARSE
Allie Pearse is a standup comedian and writer on the award-winning TV shows Letterkenny and Shoresy. In 2023 performed at Just For Laughs on the Russell Peters gala, in 2022 she was a 'New Faces' performer at the Just For Laughs festival and is the winner of JFL’s 2021 Standup & Pitch competition. She has performed for tapings at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, JFL’s New Wave of Comedy and CBC’s The Debaters. Allie was a staff writer on the 2022 JFL Galas where she wrote for Chelsea Handler, Jo Koy, Patton Oswalt and Russell Peters and a staff writer/performer on Roast Battle Canada Season 3. She has performed at the Limestone Comedy Festival, Sled Island Comedy Festival, Hubcap Comedy Festival, Winnipeg Comedy Festival and 10 000 Laughs Festival. Allie has been featured on Sirius XM radio, has recorded for JFL Originals and OFF-JFL and was a co-headlining act at the 2022 Just For Laughs in Toronto.
DAVE BURKE
Dave Burke is a stand-up comedian based in Toronto. He's appeared at the Boston Comedy Festival, and performs at Yuk Yuk's comedy clubs across Canada. His album Sexual Cactus can be heard on SiriusXM Radio. Dave has written and performed for Your Hood's a Joke at JFL Zoofest. He's performed stand-up at the National Arts Center and the CAA Theatre, and was a finalist in the 2018 Brantford Comedy Festival.
