VOLUNTARY SELF EXCLUSION

If you are gambling more often than you believe you should be you might want to consider the Voluntary Self Exclusion Program.

How does it work?

A voluntary self exclusion can be an important first step in helping to control your gambling. When you enroll, you select a period of time to exclude yourself from all casinos in the province – from a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 5 years. The exclusion applies to Casinos Regina & Moose Jaw, the Show Lounge and restaurants, as well as all Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) casinos. SIGA casinos include: Bear Claw Casino, Dakota Dunes Casino, Gold Eagle Casino, Living Sky Casino, Northern Lights Casino, Painted Hand Casino and Gold Horse Casino.

How do I sign up to be voluntarily self-excluded?

You can approach Customer Service or any Security staff at the casino and they will connect you with a GameSense staff member who will facilitate your voluntary self exclusion request. Or you can call a GameSense team member at 306-787-2122 to make an appointment. A voluntary self exclusion can be facilitated off-site for your convenience if requested in advance. Please call 306-787-2122 for more details. The exclusion also applies to Saskatchewan’s online gaming platform called PlayNow.com

What happens while I sign up?

You will meet with a manager who has been trained to handle requests for voluntary self-exclusions. They are trained professionals who understand this can be a difficult decision and will support you in any way they can.
You will be asked to show your government-issued identification that includes your signature and a photograph. This could be a driver’s license, a passport or other identification. You will also be asked to sign the Voluntary Self-Exclusion Agreement and your photograph will be taken.

What happens once I sign up?

Once you’ve signed up, the information you provided will be disclosed to all Saskatchewan casino security offices to help you stick to your commitment.

How long will I be voluntarily self-excluded?

The length of the exclusion is up to you. You can chose between 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years and 5 years. Your voluntary self exclusion starts the moment you sign up and lasts for the duration of time chosen by you.  Only commit to the amount of time you want to be excluded, as once in effect your exclusion cannot be shortened or removed. If you want to extend you VSE please call 306-787-2122.

Can I exclude a spouse or family member?

If you have a loved one you believe has a gambling problem, it is understandable that you'd want to help. However, an individual can only decide for themselves to enter the self exclusion program. Not even a spouse or family member can do it for them.

What happens if I break my commitment?

It is your responsibility to honour the commitment you made to yourself. If you enter a casino in Saskatchewan during your voluntary self-exclusion period and are identified, you will be asked to leave. You may also be issued a Summary Offense Ticket.

Voluntarily excluded individuals are ineligible to receive any winnings, including cash or prizes at Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw, and all SIGA casinos.

I'd like to extend my enrolment

You may extend your self-exclusion by contacting the GameSense Staff at 306-787-2122 to arrange a meeting at either Casino Regina, Casino Moose Jaw or off-site by request.
